Movie: Désiré Landru (2005) (TV)
“”THE FRENCH BLUEBEARD” – The plot summary is a real story, so… Henri-Désiré Landru (1869-1922) was a French swindler and deserter who, during WWI, seduced more than 250 single women (250 women in his bed in only 4 years : Casanova and Don Juan are K.O. !), noting each of them in a little notebook… When he find women with some bank savings, he invited them in his country cottage. The ones who were invited were never seen anymore. Pretty smart and organized, he used many names and disguises, but one of his victim’s sister recognized him in the street in 1919. Soon arrested, he was accused of 11 murders (ten lovers + the son of one of them). He strangled his preys, cut them into pieces and destroyed the body parts in his stove. His trial happened in Versailles in November, 1921, he was sentenced to death on November 30th, 1921. Landru was guillotined on the morning of February 25th, 1922, in front of the Versailles’ prison. He is still one of the most famous serial killers. Written by Sylvain Larue”

Movie: Dylan (2008)
“Dylan is a richly drawn, semi-surreal biography of legendary poet and notorious hell-raiser Dylan Thomas (Kevin Mckidd) spanning his birth in Wales to his death aged 39, in New York. We see Dylan’s early years and inspirations and join his famous lecture tours of America taking in Arthur Miller’s appreciation and Charlie Chaplin’s chagrin along the way. Observing his complex, tragic and often comical relationships with among others, fiery Irish wife Caitlin (Kelly Reilly) and wealthy socialite mistress Elizabeth Reitell (Famke Janssen), we are also party to the creation of some of his most famous works. Fascinating and inspired, Dylan will appeal to the many fans of Thomas’s ‘dark and sullen art’ as well all those new to the life of one of literature’s greatest and most loved anti-heroes. Movie: Dylan (1978) (TV)
“It is late 1953. Poet Dylan Thomas is visiting the US to give a series of readings of his work, and to write the libretto of an opera for the composer Stravinsky in California. Exhausted and suffering from writers’ block Thomas is desperate for the money the tour will earn for him. He is drinking heavily and his behaviour becomes increasingly unreliable and erratic as the tour progresses. He is also pursuing a guilt-ridden affair with Liz Reitel. In flashback we see the story of Thomas’s early life, including his relationship with his stern father D J Thomas. The deal with Stravinsky falls through and Thomas returns to New York. His drinking is now out of control and he collapses after drinking “eighteen straight whiskies”. A doctor administers an injection of morphine and Thomas falls into a coma and does not recover.
